Simpático Studio is the creative collaboration and inspiration of two San Diego design enthusiasts, Jackie and Brent, who nerd out on furniture, architecture, and interior design. Different cultures, backgrounds, and generations somehow have collided to deliver a unique vision that one could only describe as, well, Simpático.
Jackie is the more colorful and bold member of the team. She is well versed beyond her years in contemporary design, and the history of iconic furniture. Her inspiration is derived from this vocabulary, and a love of her rich latin culture. She has a deep connection to art and design. Rich and artistic interiors have always spoken passionately to her, making interior design her career choice. She is largely responsible for the inception and premise of our projects. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design in her native San Diego.
Brent is the fabricator and craftsman for the studio. He has been passionate about making art in one form or another, almost forever. Abstract expressionist painter, guitarist in the 80s/90s music scene, graphic artist, illustrator. He grew up in North Carolina in a household with very cool parents, who embraced art and the mid century modern vibe. Eventually in San Diego, a chance encounter with an aspiring furniture designer, and a mentorship with an industrial design professor in San Diego, would provide a pathway to his true calling. A decade of custom commercial and residential projects would follow with his company, Lammkraft Custom Furniture and Design. After stepping away from the grind of custom work, his love of furniture design has been rekindled with a renewed focus on innovative, dynamic, and truly unique pieces.
